Delivering heating oil can be quite a difficult job for an oil supplier. Not only do they have to find your home and gaining access to it but also finding your oil tank can be a tough job.

Heatingoil.co.uk works with its oil suppliers to reduce the possibilities of your domestic oil order being late due to oil suppliers being unable to find you home or your oil tank.

You can help us by giving clear instructions for the delivery driver, to make the heating oil delivery go as smoothly as possible.

Useful information for drivers includes (in order of most importance):

1 - Access Difficulties

Telling the oil supplier of access difficulties allows the driver to be more prepared when they arrive at your property. Examples of information they might need are as follows:

• small drive way
• narrow lane on approach to house
• not much room to manoeuvre
• locked gates
• oil tank along way from parking area

By having this information before they arrive, the oil supplier can make an educated judgement about which vehicle to send to be best suited to make the heating oil delivery.

2 - Position of heating oil tank

If you tank is hidden or position in an unobvious (in a shed or garage for example) then it makes it very difficult for the delivery driver to find and successfully make your heating oil delivery.

By letting the delivery driver know where you tank is, you are reducing the time spent looking for the oil tank and the possibility of the driver being unable to find it and not being able to make your domestic oil delivery.

3 - Directions to your home

This is only important if your house is not easy to find. Our supplier's drivers have, on average, over 6 years of experience delivering heating oil. This means they know their areas well and can find most villages blindfolded (obviously not while driving!!).

When they do struggle however, is if a home is up a track, just outside a village or off the main roads. Then direction to your house become important.

Heatingoil.co.uk limits the space you have to write this information to 60 characters, as this is the standard amount of space our heating oil suppliers have to put the information of their delivery tickets.
