During busy times of the year, our suppliers are often unable to reschedule their deliveries at short notice. The only way you can be sure your oil will be delivered sooner is to cancel your order and place a new order with an earlier delivery date.
If you are unsure when you may run out of oil, we recommend you play it safe by selecting an early delivery date.
If your domestic oil order has not been delivered, the first step is to check the delivery date you have requested on the confirmation email you received from heatingoil.co.uk at the time of ordering. While we always endeavour to deliver within the timescale you requested there are occassions where this may not be possible. We will always try to notify you in advance if such a situation occurs. If you do have any queries, please contact us and let us kow your order number so we can investigate.
Providing we can gain access to the tank you don't need to be at home when we deliver your home heating oil. All our deliveries are metered and you will receive a printed reading of the precise amount dispensed, so you know exactly how much domestic heating oil we have delivered. These meters are regularly checked by Trading Standards.
With most of our suppliers offering four, six and eight wheeler tankers, heatingoil.co.uk can deliver a large range of fuels and quantities to any location. Please let us know in the 'delivery instructions' section of your order if you require a small tanker.
Most of our tankers have a 120ft (40m) hose. This is ample for most delivery scenarios.
Heatingoil.co.uk is responsible for ensuring that your delivery is made within the terms of the order. We have various suppliers across the UK that we reply on to ensure your oil is delivered when you need it. If you have any questions regarding your order, please contact us.
Our delivery driver will leave a printed ticket from the tanker's meter which will show exactly how much oil was delivered.
If you've paid for more fuel than we've delivered, we will credit your account with the difference, based on the price you paid for your fuel. If the amount owed is less than £25 your account will not be credited. Please note an administration charge of £10 will be applied for all credits. If you receive a total of less than 500 litres of fuel, no credit or refund will be offered. If you have a discrepancy with your order, please contact us.
When you order at heatingoil.co.uk you pay for your home heating oil immediately through our secure ProtX payment facilty.
There are 4.546 litres to a imperial gallon. Please see our quantity conversion table.
The minimum amount you can order is 500 litres and the maximum you can order is 100,000 litres. Most customers order between 1,000-2,000 litres. The larger the volume we deliver, the lower the pence per litre price will be. If you are not sure how much you need to order, please read your tank instructions. If you order more than you need we will credit your account with the difference, providing you received more than 500 litres of oil in total, and the difference between fuel ordered and fuel received is greater than 5 litres. Please note an administration fee will be charged for credits. If you are still not sure please contact us.
There are four main ways to save money on your order:
All domestic customers pay 5% VAT on home heating oil, regardless of quantity.
Even a small oil spillage can have a devastating effect on the local environment, therefore, oil storage within the UK is strictly regulated.
It’s worth spending a few minutes ensuring your storage tank complies with the rules. You can get all the details by clicking on one of the following links:

Kerosene, also known as 28 second oil, is produced after the distillation process of crude oil. Most domestic systems run on kerosene because it provides a cleaner and more efficient burn for your home. Gas oil (red diesel), also known as 35 second oil, is more commonly used in agriculture and industry. Gas oil is less combustible than kerosene and has more carbon atoms.
